Introduction to Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) Techniques
In this 20-minute video, filmed professionally up in Glen Etive, Scotland, Doug takes you through in detail how to set up your camera for Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) Photography. He discusses exactly how to use filters and the camera's settings to get the right shutter speed, how to approach achieving the right amount and style of blur for the type of image you want to create and how to overcome some of the issues that many encounter when getting started with ICM image making. This is a great introduction to this painterly style of photography that can create really atmospheric emotional images. The techniques shown can be applied to any camera which has Aperture Priority and Manual controls, especially if you have the ability to fit Neutral Density filters. These videos were made in 2018.
